Friday Funny: Vista Thinks Apache Is An Error

This is what I see every day when I log into Vista at work. It's an error dialog that ironically says "The operation completed successfully". And you can see the Apache logo on the task bar.

So, apparently Vista thinks starting Apache successfully is an error. :-)

Dan Wilson's Gravatar HA HA HA HA, you mean you aren't fully assimilated into the Borg? I bet IIS is allowed to complete successfully without error....

TJ Downes's Gravatar Odd, I run apache on Vista and never see that behavior. Have you reviewed the event log to determine why it thinks its an error?

Kay Smoljak's Gravatar Heh, I'd be more inclined to think the culprit is Apache not using the right type of dialog... but calling out open source software for poor quality control is not as funny as blaming MS :)

Morgan Dennithorne's Gravatar I had the same problem and fixed it by taking 'Monitor Apache Servers' out of the startup folder.

Tim Denney's Gravatar Hey Chris!
I see you have joined the ‘blogsphere’, it looks good, it will be nice to keep in touch and see what you are up to. Keep it up!
I’m really excited about AIR and Flex. I have ran through a lot of the documentation and just in awe - now I gotta figure out my own project to make.
Don’t forget your friends, as you climb the latter to blog star-dom.
Shoot be back an email sometime,

p.s. You switched to vista?!? Masochist...
